FORT WORTH, Texas -- The No. 17 Wake Forest men's golf team are in position to win their second team title in a week entering the final round of the Colonial Collegiate on Tuesday.

The Demon Deacons (+3) are just two strokes off the team lead and are in a tie for second place in Fort Worth, Texas with the help of a strong start to the day. The Deacs led for a majority of the day, holding a three-shot lead after the opening 18 holes.

Sophomore Michael Brennan continued to have a strong start to his second season as a Demon Deacon. He has now been the top individual on the leaderboard after every round this season.

Brennan will look to close out his second individual title in the past seven days. After two rounds, he holds a four-stroke advantage atop the individual leaderboard at 6-under-par, Additionally, he was the only player in the field to turn in two rounds below par on Monday. He now has five consecutive rounds in the 60s.

If Brennan were to win, it would be his fourth individual title of his career, tying him with the likes of Wake Forest greats Will Zalatoris and Bill Andrade among others.

After a strong finish to the day, Alex Fitzpatrick moved up 14 spots in the second round and is tied for 12th entering the final round at 1-over-par for the tournament.

The Demon Deacon teams will tee off No. 1 on Wednesday between 10:30 a.m. and 11:06 a.m. along with Pepperdine (+1) and Oklahoma (+3), who are in first and tied for second respectively.

From Coach Haas:

"Days like this help you prepare for the NCAA Championships. We played fantastic golf in the morning shooting 10-under as a team which is really good. It was much windier in the afternoon but we have to do a better job of handling our emotions in these situations. That being said, we are right there in a very elite field. With a good round tomorrow, the Demon Deacons will have a good chance to win it. That's why you practice and that's why you play. Let's go Deacs."
