Wake Forest, Coach Walter Announce 2022 Baseball Schedule

The Demon Deacons first 11 games of the upcoming season will be played in the friendly confines of David F. Couch Ballpark.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest baseball head coach Tom Walter announced the Demon Deacons' 2022 schedule on Monday. The slate features 30 Atlantic Coast Conference games across 10 weekend series, as well as 26 matchups against non-conference opponents.
"We are 87 days away from our home opener and I am so excited," said Walter. "Our new staff additions are paying off and we have worked tirelessly to build the team culture and camaraderie we were missing last season. I really like our combination of talent, experience and depth. February 18 can't come soon enough."
Wake Forest opens the 2022 campaign with 11-straight non-conference games inside David F. Couch Ballpark, highlighted by opening weekend against Rider, Georgetown and VCU on Feb. 18-20 .
The Deacs will close out the month of February with four home games against 2021 NCAA Tournament qualifier New Jersey Institute of Technology on Feb. 25-27.
ACC play opens on March 11-13 as the Demon Deacons welcome the Florida State Seminoles to Winston-Salem. Wake Forest will also host Virginia (March 25-27), Duke (April 8-10), Clemson (April 15-17) and Louisville (May 6-8) in conference action.
The Deacs will hit the road for their first league series against Georgia Tech (March 18-20) and will make trips to Boston College (April 1-3) and Notre Dame (April 22-24) before ending the 2021 regular season with back-to-back road series against in-state rivals North Carolina (May 13-15) and NC State (May 19-21).
In non-conference action, Wake Forest will play a home-and-home with Elon, Coastal Carolina, UNC Greensboro, Appalachian State and High Point.
Wake Forest returns 21 players from last season, including 2021 freshman All-Americans Brock Wilken and Eric Adler.
The Deacs bring in the No. 13 recruiting class in the country according to Baseball America. In total, Wake Forest welcomes 12 incoming freshmen and seven transfers.
The ACC Baseball Championship is set to return to Truist Field in Charlotte on May 24-29.
