Demon Deacons Return Home to Battle Spartans
12/10/2021 2:47:00 PM | Men's Basketball
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's basketball team will face USC-Upstate on Saturday evening inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The Demon Deacons (8-1) are coming off an 80-61 victory in Blacksburg against Virginia Tech and are looking to continue their best start to a season since 2008-09.
The team shot a season-high 63.5 percent from the field in the victory over the Hokies, marking the best shooting performance by Wake Forest against an ACC foe since the 2006-07 season. The Deacs currently boast the 12th best field goal percentage in the country at 50.2 percent.
Alondes Williams (58.3 percent) and Jake LaRavia (63.6 percent) have each played an important role in Wake Forest's elite shot making this season, as both rank in the top three of the ACC in shooting percentage - LaRavia in second and Williams in third.
The Spartans (2-6) are coming off a 78-73 loss to Western Carolina and are led by fourth-year coach Dave Dickerson. Dickerson's squad returns three starters from last year.
Tipoff in LJVM Coliseum is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET and the game will air live on Regional Sports Networks.
