The senior point guard helped lead the Demon Deacons to two wins this week including a game-tying three against Pitt and an eight-assist performance at Clemson.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Wake Forest women's basketball senior guard Gina Conti was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

This is Wake Forest's third ACC weekly honor and second for Conti this season. Ivana Raca claimed this accolade on Jan. 11 while Conti grabbed the honor on Jan. 18

She has helped Wake Forest to a three-game winning streak, the second longest in the ACC.

On Thursday night, Conti helped lead the Demon Deacons back from a 10-point deficit against Pitt with five minutes remaining in the game. She hit the game-tying three to send the game to overtime where the Deacs won, 64-61. In addition to her clutch three pointer, the senior tallied a career-high tying eight rebounds in the win over Pitt.

Her eight assists in Sunday's win at Clemson were one shy of her season high.

Conti averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game this week.

With the performance, she now ranks fourth in program history in assists with 456 in her career. Additionally, she heads into Thursday needing just 17 points to become the 29th member of the Wake Forest 1,000-point club.
