The back-to-back WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year helped the Aces franchise reach the Finals for just the second time in its history.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Former Wake Forest women's basketball player Dearica Hamby and the Las Vegas Aces announced Monday that they have reached an agreement on a contract extension.

The agreement runs through the 2022 season and by the end of the deal the former Demon Deacons star will be with the franchise for all eight of her seasons in the WNBA.

Hamby has played a key role in turning the franchise around since being drafted sixth overall by the team in 2015. Over the last three seasons, the Aces have increased their winning percentage by 20 percent each season, finishing with the best record in the WNBA and earning the top overall season this season.

After capturing her second consecutive WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year Award, Hamby was in the midst of having her best pro season yet before suffering a season-ending injury in the playoffs.

She averaged a career-high 13.0 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game in the regular season. Hamby also averaged 28.3 minutes during the regular season and 25.0 in her three playoff games.
