Demon Deacons Head to Miami for Midweek Tip

2/24/2021 9:24:00 AM | Women's Basketball

Wake Forest comes into the final week of the regular season sixth in the ACC standings and one conference win away from tying the program record.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball travels to Miami to take on the Hurricanes for the penultimate game of the regular season Thursday evening.

The Demon Deacons (11-9, 8-8 ACC) have won three of the last four contests and will be in search of their ninth conference win of the season. It would tie a program record set by the 1987-88 NCAA Tournament. Ahead of next week's ACC Tournament, the Deacs are currently the No. 6 seed.

The Hurricanes (9-10, 6-10 ACC) have dropped three of their last four games, but are coming off a victory over Boston College on Sunday where they held the Eagles to 38.8 percent shooting from the field and 60 total points.

Tipoff for Thursday's game against Miami (FL) is scheduled for 6 p.m. (ET) in Watsco Center. The game will air on ACC Network Extra.

Fans can follow along via the Demon Deacons Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts (@WakeWBB).

Gina Conti now has 987 points in her Wake Forest career and is on pace to become the 29th member of the 1,000-point club in program history. She is currently on pace to cross the mark on Thursday night.
