FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Anna Bush earned Second Team All-America honors in the women's pentathlon on Thursday with a score of 3,984 points. The redshirt junior, who finished in 12th place, won the ACC Championship in this event two weeks ago at the league meet.
Bush's highest finish came in the high jump where she finished eighth with a mark of 1.69 meters. The Australian native also captured top-10 finishes in the 800m run and long jump.
The Demon Deacons continue NCAA Championship action tomorrow when Aleeya Hutchins participates in the women's 800m run prelims. Saturday's events include the 800m run finals and the 3,000m run where Hannah Brookover is set to compete.
Assistant Coach, Gray Horn:
"I'm very proud that Anna (Bush) was able to have this experience. You can't fully visualize what it is like to compete with such an elite level of competition until you have actually been in that position yourself. It's a different kind of pressure that she now has had to experience. She still has a few years of this left, and I have no doubt in my mind that she'll be back and better for it."
