RALEIGH, N.C. – Ryanne Brown scored the golden goal in the second overtime, to help Wake Forest pick up a road win over NC State, 1-0, at Dail Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The Demon Deacons (4-6-1, 3-4-1 ACC) secured their 18th win all-time against NC State (4-1-1, 0-0-0 ACC) and clinched their first overtime win since Oct. 24, 2019 versus Pitt.
How It Happened
"Great team effort today. So many great performances it is impossible to choose a single one to highlight. Kaitlyn Parks had an incredible game in the goal, Shayla Smart covered so much ground, Lyndon Wood did any amazing job in her debut at center back and Ryanne Brown capped off a with the game-winner. We had to grind defensively because NC State is so dangerous in the attack. We just hung in together and found a way to win on the road. I am proud of this team and staff. Our young squad is making progress."
Wake Forest is back at Spry for the first time this spring on Sunday, playing host to Elon at 2 p.m. on the ACC Network.
