Parks Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week

Redshirt freshman Kaitlyn Parks earned her second ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors with shutout win at NC State.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest redshirt freshman Kaitlyn Parks has been named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, after helping the Demon Deacons earn a 1-0 double overtime win at NC State on Saturday.
Parks played 108 minutes in the net, as Wake Forest snapped the Wolfpack's 12-game home win streak. The Demon Deacons posted their fourth shutout victory of the 2020-21 season.
A native of Upper Marlboro, Md., Parks recorded her third shutout of her career. She played a key role in the victory with three saves, including a diving save that denied NC State a goal in the 83rd minute.
This marks Parks' second ACC Defensive Player of the Week honor of her career.
Wake Forest (4-6-1, 3-4-1 ACC) plays its first home game of the spring season Sunday, March 28, when it welcomes Elon to Spry Stadium for 2 p.m. kickoff.
