Parks is the first player in ACC history to be announced as the Defensive Player of the Week in consecutive weeks.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In back-to-back weeks, Wake Forest women's soccer redshirt freshman Kaitlyn Parks has been named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week announced Tuesday by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Parks helped lead the Demon Deacons to their second consecutive shutout victory. The Upper Marlboro, Maryland, native collected her fourth clean sheet of her career. Similar to Groundhog Day, Parks repeated her three save performance last week on Sunday.
This marks Parks' third ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors. She is the second Demon Deacon to earn the honor, first was Maddie Huster in 2016.
Parks is the first to be named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week in consecutive weeks since the ACC started announcing the weekly honor in 2015.
Wake Forest (5-6-1, 3-4-1 ACC) plays its second SEC team of the season Saturday, April 3, when it travels to Georgia for a 11 a.m. kickoff.
