Four Indoor Track Athletes Earned All-ACC Academic

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Four members of the Wake Forest indoor track and field teams were recognized with their selection to the All-ACC Academic team on Tuesday.
Juniors Kenton Bachmann and Tony Jones were recognized from the men's team while junior Anna Bush and graduate student Hannah Brookover were honored from the women's team.
"These four young men and women embody the spirit of the student-athlete that we strive for within our programs," said head coach John Hayes. "They have all put forth great effort to succeed both in the classroom and on the track. We are very proud of their accomplishments."
This is the second time Brookover and Bush have been placed on the academic team. Additionally, Bachmann and Jones earned their first academic honors, respectively.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in the selection process.

Hannah Brookover
- Brookover captured Second Team All-America honors for her performance in the 3,000 meter run on the final day of the NCAA Indoor Championship.
- The Palm Harbor, Fla. native crossed the finish line in a time of 9:28.70 to place 14th in the race.
- She earned All-ACC academic honors in 2017.
- Bush earned Second Team All-America honors in the women's pentathlon with a score of 3,984 points at the NCAA Indoor Championship.
- The redshirt junior, who finished in 12th place, won the ACC Championship in this event.
- She earned All-ACC academic honors in 2020
- Jones was the first student-athlete to earn an individual crown since Robert Heppenstall placed first in the 800m run at the 2019 ACC Indoor Championships. Additionally, Jones is the 14th Deacon to win an ACC title.
- The Bangor, Pa. native leaped a program best 2.16 meters at the ACC Indoor Championships. His victory in that event is the first Demon Deacon league title in the men's high jump in program history.
- Bachmann is a distance runner who won the mile at the JDL Early Bird Invitational with a 4:22.96.
- He had a season-best 1:51.45 in the 800m at the Iowa State Classic.
- And he took third in the 800 at the Bob Pollock Invitational.
- The junior earned a personal best (1:48.84) in the 800m prelims of the ACC Championships.
