Wake Forest Leads the Field After 36 Holes of ACC Championship Play

Four Demon Deacons are in the Top 10.
Greensboro, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's golf team sits atop the leaderboard as one of just two teams under par after the first 36 holes of play at the ACC women's golf championships.
Sophomore Rachel Kuehn led the way for most of the day for the Deacs, getting as high as a tie for first. After starting the day with a bogey, she birdied three of her last four holes before the turn in the first round and had two more birdies on her second nine. She carried that momentum into the first nine of her second round, carding three birdies and no bogeys.
After a double-bogey to start the final nine holes of the day, Kuehn birdied the par-5, 438-yard fifth hole and finished the second round with a one-under score of 71. Her final scorecard of the day read 141 and three-under-par, good for fourth place heading into the final day of stroke play.
Senior Siyun Liu fought through a difficult first round that saw just three birdies, but also an eagle, to finish her day in third place and three strokes off the individual leader. Her second round registered a final scorecard of 67, five-under-par for the round. She had four birdies on her final nine holes of the day including a birdie on nine to give the Deacs a one-stroke lead of the field to end the day.
Sophomore Lauren Walsh started her first nine holes of the day with two bogeys and birdie, but went on to record an even-par on every hole for the rest of the round. Her second round started with two birdies on her first three holes and two birdies in a row before making the turn to her final nine of the day. After a bogey on the par-three third, she registered another birdie on the par-five fifth and went even-par for the remaining four holes. She is currently one-under and T7 with a scorecard of 143.
Defending ACC individual champion, senior Emilia Migliaccio ended her day of 36 holes on a higher note than it started.After recording a double-bogey in her first nine holes of the day, the veteran went on five birdies and an eagle to keep her in the top half of the field. She finished the day even-par and T10 with a 144.
Freshman Mimi Rhodes had an impressive first round that kept her inside the top five for most of the first half of the day, shooting even-par in her opening round. After a tough second round, Rhodes is currently T26 out of 60 players in the field.
Tee times for the final round of stroke play will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET on Friday. Wake Forest will begin at 9:50 from the first hole. At the conclusion of stroke play, the top four teams will go on to the semifinals of match play on Saturday.
