
Wake Forest Earns Second Seed for Match Play

Greensboro, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's golf team earned the second seed and will advance to the semifinals of match play at the 2021 ACC Championships at Sedgefield Country Club.
In her first appearance at the ACC Championships, sophomore Rachel Kuehn took home medalist honors for finishing in third place as an individual. After a perfect first nine holes of the day that included a birdie on the par-4 eighth hole. She opened her second nine with a birdie putt on the par-5 10th hole. She ended her round on a high with birdies on 15, pars on 16 and 17, then finished with a birdie on the par-5 18th. She finished the round with a 70 on the scorecard and registered a five-under score of 211 for stroke play.
Senior Siyun Liu finished in solo fifth, three strokes behind Kuehn. After a tough first nine of the day, she opened her second nine with an eagle on 10, putting from the fringe to record a three on the par-five 442-yard hole. She finished with a stroke-play score of two-under 214.
Senior Emilia Migliaccio stayed consistent in the final round of stroke play, with three birdies on the first nine and opened her second nine with a birdie on 10. She finished the day even-par on the second nine for a final-round score of 73. Migliaccio finished the stroke play portion of the tournament T11 with a score of one-over 217.
Sophomore Lauren Walsh finished alongside Migliaccio T11 and one-over for stroke play. Freshman Mimi Rhodes finished T37 in her ACC Championship debut.
The semifinals of match play begin Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. ET. No. 2 Wake Forest will face No. 3 Florida State and No. 1 Duke will face No. 4 Virginia. The winners of each match will advance to the championship round Sunday.
