LAST TIME OUT
- Wake Forest won in dominant fashion, riding three goals from three different Demon Deacons to shutout Elon 3-0 at Spry Stadium.
- The Deacs struck first with a 19th minute goal off the right foot of Ashley Frank. The forward took a strong first touch off a pass from Sophie Faircloth to open up and fire a shot outside the 18-yard box into the bottom left corner for the opening goal.
- Less than ten minutes later, a Wake Forest cross hit the hand of an Elon defender inside the Phoenix box. Faircloth got the nod to take the 27th-minute penalty kick for the Demon Deacons. The true freshman didn't hesitate as she fired the ball to the right corner that was securely out of reach of the keeper.
- The third goal came when Shayla Smart dribbled around the Phoenix defender and slotted a cross-net dime in the bottom left corner. The Apopka, Florida, native would put the nail in the coffin for any Elon hopes to comeback in the 69th minute.
- Saturday's match will be the 8th meeting between Wake Forest and Georgia. The Deacs own a 3-1-3 record against the Bulldogs.
- Last time out, Peyton Perea scored the game-winner in the 39th minute as Wake Forest defeated Georgia, 1-0, at the Turner Soccer Complex - August 18, 2017.
- Perea, who led the Demon Deacons in goals scored in 2016, scored a goal off a sharp cross from Estelle Laurier after a through ball from Bayley Feist to put the Demon Deacons (1-0) on the board.
- The Bulldogs currently holds a 3-7-3 (2-3-3 SEC) record on the season.
- Most recently, Georgia drew a 1-1 tie against Florida. The match was held on neutral ground at Sports Park in Atlanta.
- Mollie Belisle and Abbey Boyan lead the team in goals with four a piece. Mallie McKenzie leads the team with five assists.
- Georgia is led by seven-year head coach Billy Lesesne
- In the final home game of the seaon, the Deacs will host Boston College Thursday in a non-conference affair. The match is set for 1 p.m.
