Three Demon Deacons sit inside the top 20.
STANFORD, Calif. - The Wake Forest women's golf team sits in third place and three strokes inside the cut line to advance to Championships. The leaderboard remains tight, as nine of the top 11 teams are either tied or within one stroke of each other.
Senior Emilia Migliaccio led the charge early for the Deacs, as she went bogey-free on her first 12 holes of the day and recorded five birdies in that span. She got as high as solar first on the individual leaderboard.
Sophomore Lauren Walsh continued the charge as the Deacs hit some trouble on the second nine of the day. Walsh had a team-high two birdies on the second nine and a team-low one bogey. Migliaccio, Walsh and senior Siyun Liu all sit at even par after the first 18 holes and in a tie for 17 on the individual leaderboard.
Sophomore Rachel Kuehn began the day with an eagle on the par-five first hole. She is currently two strokes back from her teammates and T36 on the board. She followed her eagle with a birdie on the par-three third to remain even on through her first nine holes.
Wake Forest tee times for the second round will begin at 12:50 p.m. ET Tuesday.
