
Deacs Hold Strong After 36

Two Demon Deacons recorded bogey-free rounds on day two of NCAA Regionals.
STANFORD, Calif. - The Wake Forest women's golf team sits in third place and 11 strokes inside the cut line to advance to Championships with 18 holes left to play. Outside of the top three, no other teams in the field are under par.
The Deacs' second round score of 280 is a six stroke improvement from their first round. Two Deacs, junior Vanessa Knecht and sophomore Rachel Kuehn, each recorded bogey-free rounds on the par-71 course. Knecht had the low score of the day for Wake Forest, recording three birdies to jump the leaderboard 20 spots and get in the top 20. Birdies on the par-four sixth, par-three eighth and par-four 10 th kept her at three under for the round.
Senior Emilia Migliaccio saw an improvement in her second round as well, jumping nine spots on the individual leaderboard to sit T8 and two under par heading into the final day tomorrow. She carded three birdies on her first nine and a birdie and an eagle on her second nine holes to finish two-under on the round.
Senior Siyun Liu and sophomore Lauren Walsh are each sitting one-over and tied for 20 on the individual leaderboard. Two birdies on Liu's second nine kept her in the top 20.Walsh birdied two of her final three holes of the day to recover from a tough few holes at the turn earlier in the day.
Wake Forest tee times for the final round will begin at 12:50 p.m. ET Wednesday. The top six teams and top three individuals from non-advancing teams will go on to compete for the National Championship in Arizona May 21-26.
