WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The first date circled by Deacon Nation and college football fans in North Carolina following the 2021 schedule announcement was Friday, Sept. 3, which will be Opening Night at Truist Field presented by Lowes Foods

"Wake Forest is thrilled for the opportunity to bring Winston-Salem together for Opening Night at Truist Field on Friday, Sept. 3," director of athletics John Currie said. "The capacity crowd on Opening Night in 2019 helped launch the Deacs' run to a school record for home victories in a season. Offering the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina includes our commitment to making Demon Deacon football affordable and accessible to all and we welcome fans to secure their tickets today."

With season ticket sales continuing to outpace previous year totals, multiple sellouts are expected this fall and fans are encouraged to take advantage of Wake Forest Athletics' 4-for-$49 Opening Night ticket package, while supplies last. This limited availability four-pack is a great way for families and friends to enjoy all the festivities of the Deacon Deacons' Opening Night contest against Old Dominion with four east side tickets and a LJVM Coliseum lot parking pass.

The $49 price for a limited number of Opening Night four-packs will be in effect until no later than June 14. Seasons tickets for the 2021 season remain available for purchase beginning at $120 while supplies last.

The quickest and most efficient way to order tickets is to visit GoDeacs.com/Tickets and purchase online or call the Wake Forest Ticket Office at 336-758-3322 ext. 1. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Ticket Purchase Assurance Program (TPA) is back in 2021 with added flexibility as another element of Wake Forest Athletics commitment to providing the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina.

DEACTOWN Fan Zone, presented by North Carolina Farm Bureau

Opening Night festivities begin at the new and expanded DEACTOWN Fan Zone, presented by North Carolina Farm Bureau on the lawn outside McCreary Tower. DEACTOWN Fan Zone is a great destination for all fans with premium tailgating options, live music, video screens, local drink options, fun and a variety of food trucks.

The DEACTOWN Fan Zone will also feature giveaways and the opportunity to ring Wake Forest's Victory Bell. Children will be entertained with inflatable games, balloon artists and face painting. Officially licensed Wake Forest merchandise from a variety of best-in-class brands will be available for purchase.

The Deacon Walk will make its way through the heart of DEACTOWN as the team arrives at Truist Field, while the Spirit of the Old Gold and Black and the Wake Forest Spirit Squads will energize Deacon Nation with a thrilling pregame parade and pep rally prior to the game.

The DEACTOWN Fan Zone will open three hours prior to the game and close 45 minutes before kickoff as fans make their way inside Truist Field to see the Deacons take on the Monarchs!

Tailgating is BACK!

After a brief hiatus in 2020, tailgating is back outside of Truist Field! Grab your friends and family and welcome the 2021 college football season through your own tailgate setup adjacent to your parking space around Truist Field, or make your way over to the DEACTOWN Fan Zone for a tailgating experience with your fellow Demon Deacons, complete with video screens, food trucks and local drink options.

If you are interested in a premier tailgating experience, a number of packages are available through Tailgate Guys for Opening Night, starting at only $300. Those packages can be purchased by visiting GoDeacs.com/tailgateguys or by calling (336) 404-7161.

Winston-Salem Comes Together

Wake Forest University's marching band — The Spirit of the Old Gold & Black — and Winston-Salem State University's Red Sea of Sound will once again unite on Opening Night at Truist Field to launch the college football season.

As part of Wake Forest Athletics goal to provide the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina, the duo performed together for the first time ever in 2019 before a capacity Opening Night crowd as Wake Forest earned an exciting 38-35 victory over Utah State on the way to an 8-5 season culminating in an appearance in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. The Red Sea of Sound marching band has received widespread recognition over the years for their excellence in performance, featuring thrilling, high energy drum majors, auxiliary cores and top-quality musical composition.

Salute to Healthcare Heroes and Essential Workers

Wake Forest will host and recognize many of our Wake Forest, Baptist Health, Winston-Salem and North Carolina healthcare heroes and essential workers who have done so much for all of us since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to get to that point where we can be together on Opening Night!
