Wake Forest Set to Face Northwestern in ACC/Big Ten Challenge

The Wake Forest men’s basketball team is participating in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge for the first time since 2019.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's basketball team will face Northwestern in the 2021 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, as announced by ESPN on Monday.
 
The Deacs will take on the Wildcats Tuesday, Nov. 30 in Winston-Salem. Game time and television network will be announced at a later date.
 
The last and only time Wake Forest has played Northwestern was in 2016, also for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Deacs fell to the Wildcats 65-58 in Evanston.
 
Wake Forest is 12-6 all-time in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Their last matchup came Dec. 4 2019 when they fell to Penn St. on the road.
 
The last time Wake Forest hosted an ACC/Big Ten Challenge match up was in 2017. Wake Forest defeated Illinois 80-73 at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The Deacs are returning three starters from the 2020-21 squad and have welcomed nine newcomers for the upcoming season. Seniors Isaiah Mucius and Daivien Williamson are the only two Deacs who played in every contest last season. The veteran duo will lead the fresh-faced team through year two of the Steve Forbes era.
