Squire Named 2021 ITA All-American

Wake Forest has produced at least one All-American every year since 2015.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest men's tennis sophomore Henri Squire received ITA All-America recognition, as announced by the organization on Monday.
This will be his first-career All-American honor.
"The accomplishment of being named an All-American in tennis is one of the rarest and highest honors one can achieve in college. These four have displayed an incredible consistency this year that helped propel themselves and this team to magnificent success all season," said head coach Tony Bresky. "They deserve this recognition, and I couldn't be more proud of this young men."
Squire is the 17th singles honoree selected in program history. The Demon Deacons has produced an at least one All-American every year since 2015.
Squire, a sophomore, earned All-American status with a top 16 seed in the NCAA singles championship and finishing in the top 20 of the final ITA singles rankings. The Düsseldorf, Germany, native finished the season ranked No. 19 in the nation with a 17-6 record that included eight victories over ranked opponents.
In doubles, the Squire and Eduardo Nava ended the season with a 13-6 record and rose as high as No. 8 in the rankings, finishing with four ranked wins. The best win of the season came over then-No. 20 Garrett Johns and Sean Sculley of Duke.
"Squire truly embraced the challenge of being the number one singles player, improving with every practice and every match. His success throughout the year is a direct reflection of the effort he put in to making sure he delivered the goods for the time every time they took the court together," said Bresky. "I'm so proud of what he has accomplished, and I know that the best is yet to come."
