
Mora Named to Ray Guy Award Preseason Watch List

The redshirt freshman punted 40 times a season ago for a total of 1,610 yards, including nine kicks that traveled over 50 yards.
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Wake Forest's Ivan Mora was one of 51 punters named to the Ray Guy Preseason Watch List, as announced by the Augusta Sports Council on Wednesday morning.
Mora garnered preseason recognition after being named a nominee for the nation's top punter award in 2020. In total, this is four consecutive years the Demon Deacons have had a member on the watch list for the top punter in the nation.
The Dalton, Ga. native completed his first collegiate season with 40 total kicks for 1,610 yards, highlighted by nine kicks over 50 yards as well as 10 kicks pinned inside the 20-yard line.
In Wake Forest's 40-23 victory over Virginia on Oct. 17, Mora averaged a season-best 47 yards per punt. In the season opener versus Clemson, Mora recorded a season-long 59-yard punt, finishing with two 50-plus yard punts and two punts inside of the 20.
Nominations open on July 29 before a complete list of candidates are released on Nov. 2. On Nov. 10, the Ray Guy Award committee will announce 10 semifinalists.
A national body of FBS sports information directors, media representatives and previous Ray Guy Award winners will vote for three finalists, slated to be announced on November 23. The winner will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards airing on ESPN on Dec. 9.
