
Deacs Travel to Boston College in ACC Road Match

Wake Forest will face the Eagles on Thursday night for the team's first conference road match of the season.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest women's soccer will travel in its first road conference match of the season on Thursday night when the Demon Deacons travel to Newton, Mass., to take on Boston College.

LAST TIME OUT
Wake Forest's women's soccer team dropped its Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opener to No. 7 Virginia, snapping an eight-match win streak on Friday night at Spry Stadium.
Virginia's game-winning goal occurred in the 19th minute by Diana Ordonez who broke through the Demon Deacons' back line that had not allowed a goal all season long and punched it in.
The Deacs recorded 10 shots in the match with seven of those coming in the second half. Wake Forest earned four-straight corners in the final two minutes of regulation to earn the equalizer but the Cavalier defense held strong.
Kaitlyn Parks recorded three saves, her second highest tally of the 2021 campaign.
HOT START
The Demon Deacons started the season with an eight-game shutout streak, during which they have remained unbeaten. Dating back to last season, Wake Forest has gone 745 minutes without conceding a goal. It was the longest active shutout streak in the nation and in program history.
For the first time since 2016 and the fourth time in program history, Wake Forest opened the season undefeated at 8-0-0.
Wake Forest was one of just three teams in the country that did not give up a goal. The Deacs have outscored their opponents, 23-1.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College enters Thursday night's game with an overall record of 6-2-1 and an 0-1-0 mark in ACC play. The Eagles dropped their first match of the season, 4-1, in the ACC opener against No. 1 Florida State.
Ella Richards leads Boston College with 20 points off eight goals and four assists with seven different players have scored a goal for the Eagles.
Goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt has started every contest, going 6-2-1 with a .781 save percentage and 1.52 goals against average.
Head coach Jason Lowe is in his 3rd season as head coach of the Eagles.
SERIES HISTORY
Thursday's meeting between the Deacs and the Eagles will continue a long-standing series. Boston College holds an 8-7-2 record against Wake Forest.
The last two meetings have ended in a 2OT tie.
