Four Demon Deacons Sit in Top Five for Final Round of Bryan National

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's golf team has an 11-stroke lead on the rest of the field entering Tuesday's final round of the Bryan National Collegiate. Wake Forest also has four Deacs in the top five.
Grad transfer Virunpat Olankitkunchai and junior Rachel Kuehn are currently tied for second place at four under par. Freshman Carolina Chacarra is in solo fourth at three under par and junior Lauren Walsh is tied for fifth at one under par. Walsh made a giant leap of improvement during the second round, jumping up the leaderboard thirteen spots after shooting two under on Monday. Olankitkunchai was the field leader for a large portion of the day and Kuehn had a steady, even-par second round to maintain her second-place spot from round one.
Sophomores Mimi Rhodes and Georgia Ruffolo are each tied for 19th at three-over for the tournament. Rhodes shot one-under for her second round to jump up 15 spots on the leaderboard. Senior Vanessa Knecht is right behind her teammates, in a tie for 21st at four over par. Her even-par second round helped her jump 13 spots on the leaderboard.
Redshirt freshman Caroline Smith had the largest improvement from round one to round two, jumping 22 spots on the leaderboard with a one-under score on Monday. She is currently tied for 39th.
Tuesday's final round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring is available via GolfStat and results will be posted at the conclusion of the event on GoDeacs.com.
