GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior forward Jake LaRavia was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon, after recording a career-high 31 points against North Carolina.
LaRavia became the fourth player over the past decade to notch at least 30 points and 10 rebounds over in-state foe North Carolina on Saturday. His 31-point, 10-rebound double-double is the sixth of his career and first as a Demon Deacon.
The Indianapolis native is the second Deac this season to earn ACC accolades, as Alondes Williams earned Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks in December. Averaging a combined 36 points per game this season, LaRavia and Williams are the top scoring tandem in the ACC.
The Deacs are coming off three-consecutive conference wins, as they took down Virginia and Georgia Tech on the road and defeated North Carolina at home Saturday night. Wake Forest tips off tonight at LJVM for a rescheduled matchup against Boston College at 6 p.m.
