The Demon Deacons and Dolphins will meet for the first time in 31 years in a non-conference contest.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 1 ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team will conclude a two-match homestand on Tuesday night, hosting Jacksonville at Spry Stadium. 

Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

Ticket Information
2022 Wake Forest soccer season tickets are on-sale now giving fans the opportunity to witness The Best Fan Experience In North Carolina from a number of unique seating options. Season tickets start as low as $45 and offer as much as a $220 savings off of purchasing individual single game tickets. 

New to the ticketing menu this year are five and 10 game FLEX options, giving fans maximum flexibility when choosing which home games to attend. FLEX season ticket members will simply open their digital FLEX account, and add or remove games as they decide which dates they are available to attend. Members may even use multiple admissions for a single game to bring a friend, family member or guest with them. If more FLEX tickets are needed, additional admissions may be purchased through the Wake Forest Ticket Office. FLEX admissions are able to be used for redemption at both men's and women's soccer games.

The Matchup 

  • Wake Forest enters the match with a 9-1-0 overall record on the 2022 campaign while Jacksonville is 3-4-2. 

  • The Demon Deacons suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday night, falling to No. 4 Duke 3-2 in a closely contested battle at Spry Stadium. 

  • Jacksonville, meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back defeats against Bellarmine and Presbyterian. 

  • Wake Forest has scored victories over two teams that have already been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll this year against UCF (1-0 on Aug. 25) and Clemson (6-1 on Sept. 24). 

  • Jacksonville's victories on the season came against Wright State, UC Riverside and Georgia Southern while also drawing with Detroit Mercy and FGCU. 

  • This will be the second-ever meeting between the two sides, as Wake Forest won the first matchup 1-0 on Aug. 30, 1991.   

Last Time Out

  • In a matchup between two top-five opponents, No. 1 Wake Forest narrowly fell to No. 4 Duke 3-2 on Saturday night. 

  • After going into the halftime break knotted at 0-0, all five goals in the contest came in the last 33 minutes with Duke scoring the game-winner in the 77th minute. 

  • The Blue Devils opened the scoring in the 57th minute before the Deacs leveled it one minute later on a penalty kick goal from sophomore Baba Niang. 

  • Duke would then score in the 60th and 77th minutes before Wake Forest got a second goal in the 80th minute. 

  • Wake Forest finished the night with 18 shots, as Duke goalkeeper Eliot Hamill collected seven saves including one off a Niang long-distance strike in the final minute. 

Scouting The Dolphins

  • Ten different Jacksonville players have scored for a balanced Dolphins attack this season, led by two goals each for Joshua Araujo-Wilson, Olivier Correa and Cao Chaves. Both Araujo-Wilson and Correa have started all nine matches so far in 2022. 

  • Moussa Sabaly leads the team in assists with six. 

  • Three different goalkeepers have started for Jacksonville this season with Christian Sekanina and Jabari Gray each earning four starts. Gray started Jacksonville's most recent match against Presbyterian, collecting six saves.   

Looking Ahead

  • Wake Forest will travel to New York to face Syracuse on Friday night in a matchup between the co-leaders of the ACC Atlantic Division. 

  • Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
