Hanks Garners ACC All-Freshman Team Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the third consecutive season, a member of the Wake Forest women's soccer team has been tabbed to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) All-Freshman team as freshman Caiya Hanks earned the yearly distinction Wednesday morning, as announced by the league office.

This season, Hanks leads the Demon Deacons in shots (41), while ranking third in shots on goal (11). The Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, native also ranks third on the team in assists and fifth in points with three and five, respectively.

Of note, Hanks led Wake Forest to a 7-0 victory over High Point this season as she tallied three points (one goal and one assist), while accumulating a .667 shots on goal percentage.

Additionally, earlier this season, Hanks was tabbed the 34th-ranked freshman in the country by TopDrawerSoccer.

With earning the yearly accolade, Hanks joins teammates Nikayla Small (2021), Sophie Faircloth (2020) and Giovanna DeMarco (2018) as the four current Deacs to be named to the All-Freshman team during their careers.

Hanks, and the Demon Demons, are awaiting the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, Nov. 7 in hopes of attaining a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
