Wake Forest Hosts Hampton in Weekend Matinee

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's basketball team will host the Hampton Pirates for a weekend matinee inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday (Nov. 26) at 12:30 p.m.
The Demon Deacons (5-1) are coming off a 105-74 win against South Carolina State. The 54 points in the second half are the most the Deacs have scored in a single half this season. The 105 points was the highest total scored by Wake Forest since dropping 111 against Delaware State Nov. 25, 2020.
With the third-best three-point field goal percentage defense in the ACC (.281), the Deacs held South Carolina State to just 16.7 percent from three-point range for the night. They also have the third-best field goal percentage defense in the ACC (.391), holding the Bulldogs to 39.2 percent from the field Wednesday.
With 19 points against the Bulldogs, sophomore guard Cameron Hildreth set a new career high in scoring. He also pulled down eight boards and chipped in two assists. Redshirt junior forward Damari Monsanto recorded a new season high with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field, including a 4-of-8 mark from three-point range.
Freshman Bobi Klintman became the second Demon Deacon to record a double-double this season against South Carolina State and is the first Wake Forest true freshman since Jaylen Hoard in February 2019 to do so, ending with 15 points and 10 boards on Wednesday night.
As of Nov. 24, the Deacs are leading the ACC in defensive rebounds per game with 30.5, which is the best defensive rebounding average since the 2008-09 season when the Deacs averaged 28.1 over 31 games. Through 35 games during the 2021-22 season, Wake Forest averaged 28.0 defensive rebounds per game.
Saturday afternoon's tipoff inside LJVM is scheduled for 12:30 p.m ET. The game will air live on ACC Network.
