Plus, what to watch for in the upcoming week.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - With week 14 of the NFL season in the books, every team has had a bye and the playoff race is officially heating up. Former Demon Deacons across the league are in the mix with just four weeks remaining.
Here's a look at how the #ProDeacs did this week.
Bates III Does it Again
Jessie Bates III notched his third interception of the season (tied for eighth-best in the NFL) and 13th of his career. The fourth-year man read Deshaun Watson's eyes and cut across the field to all but seal the victory for Cincinnati with just under 14 minutes to go in the contest.
Bates III also recorded three tackles and two pass deflections for an 89.9 PFF rating, which ranked second on the defense. Cincinnati has now won five in a row and remains tied for first place in the AFC North division at 9-4 with the Baltimore Ravens. The two teams will meet in the final regular season game on January 8th.
What to Watch for in Week 15
Carlos "Boogie" Basham and the Buffalo Bills (10-3) currently sit in first place in the AFC East with a two-game cushion over the Miami Dolphins. A win over Miami in week 15 would secure a playoff spot and put the Bills just one win away from clinching the division. Buffalo currently holds the first overall seed in the AFC.
The Minnesota Vikings (Luiji Vilain) can seal the NFC North with a win or tie against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday. The Vikings (10-3) hold a four-game advantage over the Lions in the NFC North and a one-game lead over the 49ers for the No. 2 seed in the NFC.
The Seattle Seahawks (Phil Haynes) are currently in second place of the NFC West, two games behind the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks will look to move to within one game of their divisional foe as the two face off on Thursday Night Football at 8:15 p.m..
