WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's basketball team will face its first Big Four opponent of the season in a matchup against the No. 14 Duke Blue Devils Tuesday night (Dec. 20) inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. This is the first ACC home game of the season for Wake Forest.

The Demon Deacons (8-4, 0-1) are coming off an 81-57 loss at Rutgers last Saturday afternoon (Dec. 17). Rutgers has held its opponents to an average of 39 percent from the field and 23 percent from three. Wake Forest finished 40 percent from the field and 42.3 from three-point range. Wake Forest's mark of 8.42 three-pointers made per game is the fifth-best mark in the ACC. The team added to its season total of 83 with 11 against the Scarlet Knights.

Offensively, the Deacs were led by Damari Monsanto, as the redshirt junior tied a career best in three-pointers made, ending with six on a 50 percent shooting clip from the outside. Monsanto's 22 points paced all scorers.

Cameron Hildreth reached double-figures in points for the eighth consecutive game, totaling 13 during the afternoon. Tyree Appleby added 10 points while Andrew Carr grabbed five rebounds for the second straight showing.

The Deacs were most successful from beyond the arc, piecing a 42.3 three-point percentage mark as a team. Rutgers shot 31.6 percent around that area of the floor.

Led by graduate transfer Tyree Appleby, the Deacons wrapped non-conference play on an 8-3 overall mark. Appleby is third in the ACC in scoring (18.0 ppg) and assists (5.08 apg), leading the Demon Deacons in both categories. He is second in the ACC and 56th nationally with a free throw percentage of 87.5. He has gone 56-64 this season with five games where we went 100 percent from the line.

Cameron Hildreth is among the top 20 rebounders in the league, coming in at 16th with an average of 6.33 boards per game. He is also one of just five ACC players to record 10 assists in a game so far this season. He recorded the league's only triple-double so far this season against Hampton, piecing together a line of 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Blue Devils, led by first-year head coach Jon Scheyer, are 10-2 overall this season and started league play with a win over Boston College on December 3, 75-59, in Cameron Indoor.

Freshman center Kyle Filipowski leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging a near double-double with 14.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Veteran and team captain Jeremy Roach is right behind him with 13.1 points per game. Graduate transfer Ryan Young pulls down a team-second-best 6.6 rebounds per game.

Tuesday night's tipoff inside The Joel is scheduled for 6:30 p.m ET. The game will air live on ACC Network.
