No. 6 Wake Forest Falls to No. 1 Ohio State in ITA National Indoors Quarterfinals

SEATTLE, Wash. – The No. 6 Wake Forest men's tennis team came up against a tough No. 1 Ohio State squad today in the Quarterfinals at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Seattle, falling 4-0 to the Buckeyes.
The Demon Deacons dropped to 14-4 overall with the loss and moved into the consolation draw at the event.

How It Happened
Seeded No. 1 in the draw, Ohio State captured the doubles point with strong wins on courts one and three, with No. 1 Cash / Vocel topping Deacs No. 20 Siddhant Banthia / Jakob Schnaitter, 6-3 before Kingsley / Tracy beat Wake Forest's No. 19 Robert Maciag / Ben Draper 6-2 to suspend action on court two.
In singles, the Buckeyes claimed first sets on four courts, while the Deacs' had the early advantage on courts three and five. At the No. 6 spot, Banthia had his hands full with Ohio State's Robert Cash, who got the Buckeyes up 2-0 on a 6-2, 6-4 decision on that court.
Wake Forest continued to fight, with No. 71 Eduardo Nava battling back to force a third set on court two, although teammate No. 99 Jurabek Karimov was unable to extend his battle with No. 6 Matej Vocel, as Ohio State moved ahead 3-0 on a 6-2, 6-3 decision on court one. At the No. 4 spot, No. 108 Taha Baadi would lose his tangle with No. 11 JJ Tracy as Ohio State pocketed the victory 4-0 when Tracy nabbed the 7-5, 6-0 decision.
