
Deacs Set for Thursday Matinee at Clemson

Wake Forest and Clemson will close out the regular-season series in South Carolina.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Continuing its road stretch, the Wake Forest women's basketball heads South to face Clemson for a Thursday afternoon tilt.
The Deacs (12-11, 2-10 ACC) have held the upper hand, winning nine of the last twelve matchups. Additionally, Wake Forest is looking to continue its winning ways at Clemson. The Demon Deacons have won the last seven matchups at Littlejohn Coliseum, dating back to the 2010-11 season. The Deacs are looking for another efficient shooting effort after four players finished in double figures on Sunday in a close defeat at Duke.
The Tigers (8-16, 2-10 ACC) have suffered losses in four of its last five appearances, having most recently played Virginia Tech on Tuesday. A preseason All-ACC pick, Delicia Washington, paces the team's offense with 15.6 points per game, ranking fourth-best among all conference individuals. The 5-10 guard is also averaging 6.7 rebounds per game and 1.8 steals per game. Amari Robinson (10.3 PPG) has been another standout. The Tigers are third in the conference in offensive rebounds per game with 14.3 per game.

Wake Forest pieced together one of its most efficient team performances at Duke. As a whole, the team shot nearly 47 percent from the field, including an 8-of-16 clip from beyond the arc (50 percent) and going perfect at the charity stripe (8-of-8). Wake Forest won the rebounding battle, grabbing 39 boards to the Tigers 37 on Thursday night. Christina Morra pulled down a game-high eight rebounds in the losing effort, while freshman forward Malaya Cowles tallied six rebounds.
