GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Aaron Las Heras was recognized as the ACC Outdoor Track Performer of the Week with his record breaking 10,000m event and 1,500m event at the Raleigh Relays.
Las Heras currently has the collegiate lead in the 10,000m event after he laid down a winning time of 28:13.82 at the Raleigh Relays. He broke a 23-year-old Wake Forest school record that was held by Nolan Swanson (28:31.51) in 1999. Not including the school record, his time broke the meet record and facility record.
Las Heras placed sixth in the 1500m event with a 3:41.09 time, earning the No. 2 fastest time in school history and currently ranks fifth nationally.
This is his first ACC weekly honor of Las Heras' career.
Wake Forest will continue outdoor action this weekend, traveling to High Point for the Vertklasse Meeting (April 1-2).
