Augusta, Ga. – Wake Forest women's golfer Rachel Kuehn fired back-to-back birdies to end her second round of play to stay within the cut line of the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
The top 30 competitors from the 71-player field will compete in the final round at Augusta National Golf Club on Saturday. Wake Forest teammates Emilia Migliaccio, Lauren Walsh and Carolina Chacarra did not make the cut for the final round but will play the closed practice round Friday afternoon at Augusta
"It's such an honor to be able to make the cut," said Kuehn. "It's always incredible to get to play against some of the best players in the world. Being able to finish with two birdies gives me a little momentum going into tomorrow, but I just feel honored, humbled, and excited to be playing on Saturday."
Wake Forest has had a player in contention every year, with Jennifer Kupcho winning the inaugural event in 2019 and Migliaccio coming in second after a playoff in 2021. Kuehn is currently five over par after the first 36 holes, five strokes behind the clubhouse leaders.
