
Delmotte, McCusker Selected to Canadian Women’s Field Hockey National Team

The duo was named to the 25-person roster to begin training for this year’s World Cup and Commonwealth Games.
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA – Grace Delmotte and Brooke McCusker have been named to the Canadian Women's Field Hockey National Team, released by the organization this week.
"I'm super excited to have the opportunity to train and learn from such a talented group of women," said Delmotte. "It is definitely an honour representing my country while playing the sport I love."

"Learning from this group of women and being able to compete with them is always a great experience that allows me to further develop and grow as an athlete. It is such an honour to be able to represent my country while playing the sport I love."
The Deacon duo will be a part of the 25-person national team roster that is hopeful to be selected to participate in the 2022 World Cup and the 2022 Commonwealth games. Both the World Cup and Commonwealth Games are set for this coming July and August. Delmotte and McCusker will begin training with the rest of the Canadian team and coaches after the culmination of their Spring semester at Wake Forest.
In her second collegiate season, Delmotte appeared in all 17 games. Delmotte recorded a season-high three shots on goal against Louisville on October 1st and tallied five total assists on the season with two assists coming at Iowa during the season opener on August 27th.
McCusker, a freshman during the 2021 campaign, appeared in all 17 of Wake Forest's matches while making five starts for the Deacs. She finished sixth on the squad with eight points (three goals and two assists). McCusker's best performance came in a victory over Richmond on Oct. 24th where she tallied a goal and an assist for a career-high three points in the 4-1 win.
Following the season, Delmotte and McCusker were both named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
The Canadian Women's Field Hockey team is currently ranked 13th in the world by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
