WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 4 Wake Forest women's golf team has been selected as the top seed at the Franklin, Tennessee NCAA Regional May 9-11.
The Deacs are coming off winning the 2022 ACC Championship title two weeks ago and will be making their second-consecutive regional appearance as a No. 1 seed.
Other teams headed to Franklin include ACC opponent Duke and fellow top 20 teams in Alabama and Texas A&M. Six-seed Vanderbilt will serve as host of the regional at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. The par 72 North Course, stretching 7,190 yards from the championship tees, was designed by Hall of Fame golfer Tom Kite and world-renowned golf course architect, Bob Cupp. The greens are well undulated with the promise of multiple hole locations and the bunkers are large and boldly shaped. The course path provides an inspired variety of holes playing through lush fields and around lakes and streams.
The 2022 Division I NCAA women's golf season will have six regional sites for the first time in its history this season. Twelve teams and six individuals will be featured at each regional site. The top four teams and top two individuals on non-advancing teams from each regional will advance to the National Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club (Raptor Course) in Scottsdale, Arizona from May 20-25.
