The sophomore has struck out a career-high 46 batters, good for second on the team, while holding the lowest ERA (1.71) on the squad.
DALLAS – Sophomore Camden Minacci was selected to the 2022 Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List, as announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association this week.
Minacci was tabbed as one of the nation's top 62 relief arms by the organization and was one of 18 pitchers to make both the preseason and midseason lists.
The Tampa, Fla. native has been the most relied upon arm coming out of the Wake Forest bullpen this season. In 31.2 innings, the sophomore has struck out 46 batters while only allowing six earned runs.
Minacci's career-high 46 strikeouts rank second on the team, while he sports the lowest ERA (1.71) on the squad.
Minacci has also tallied five saves, the fifth-most in the ACC, highlighted by slamming the door in three-straight games against Elon (April 6), Duke (April 8) and Duke (April 9).
In nine of Minacci's 22 appearances this season, the righthander has blanked the opposition, allowing no hits or runs.
Minacci was instrumental in Wake Forest's series-opening victory at Georgia Tech on March 18, posting a career-high five strikeouts in a career-high 3.2 inning to secure a 5-3 win.
The NCBWA will announce the finalists on Wednesday, June 8 with the winner being named on Friday, June 17 at the 2022 College World Series. The full midseason watch list can be found here.
Wake Forest returns home to David F. Couch Ballpark for two games against non-conference foe Longwood on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1.
The first game of the weekend set is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start, while Sunday's contest will begin at 1 p.m.
Both games will be available on ACC Network Extra.
