Paul McCartney is in the midst of his GOT BACK Tour, a 13-city return to U.S. stages including a stop at Truist Field tomorrow night.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Music fans from across the country will converge on Truist Field tomorrow night for nearly three hours of rock and roll euphoria delivered from one of the all-time greats, Paul McCartney.

McCartney's "Got Back" tour is highlighted by more than 30 songs each night spanning the entire discography of his Hall of Fame career, including his solo work, Wings and The Beatles.

Gates open at Truist Field at 6 p.m. and the concert is set to begin at 8 p.m. Additionally, parking lots open at 3 p.m. Patrons can contact call 336-758-GAME (4263) or email gameday@wfu.edu for more information on the day of the concert.

Ticket holders are reminded Wake Forest's clear bag policy is in place for this event. Parking information is available here

"This is going to be the tour to see," Allen Corbett, vice president of AEG Presents in the Carolinas, said during the concert announcement in February. "He's going to be performing hours of material spanning his entire career. This will be a concert unlike any other and is a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

After successfully hosting Guns 'N' Roses in 2017 and Billy Joel in 2018, Wake Forest is excited to bring yet another spectacular concert experience to Winston-Salem.

"We look forward to hosting fans from across the state and really from across the nation for this world-class event," said executive senior associate AD Barry Faircloth. "We can't wait to show off Truist Field as this event brings the community together. It's so exciting. People are still talking about Guns 'N' Roses and Billy Joel. I don't think there's anything that can bring a community together like something in a stadium. To have someone who can sell out a stadium like Paul McCartney makes it an incredible community event, and a lot of fun. I'm really looking forward to it."

The concert adds value to Wake Forest Athletics, the university itself as well as the city of Winston-Salem.

"At Wake Forest, we value the arts as a major pillar to educate the whole person," Wake Forest President Susan R. Wente, Ph.D. said. "The arts and humanities are critical to our mission at Wake Forest and critical to our society. We believe that creativity is key to innovation. Paul McCartney is a legendary musician and poet; and our campus has much to learn from him and much to be inspired by."

With more than 30,000 Paul McCartney fans assembling Saturday night at Truist Field, the economic boon for the city of Winston-Salem looks to be impressive.

"This will have a huge economic impact on our city," Winston-Salem mayor Allen Joines said. "Hotels, restaurants and other retail establishments will feel an impact. The other impact that the city will feel is one that you can't put a price tag on, and that's the prestige in hosting this show. Being able to show that we have regular entertainment opportunities like this will help us keep our image as the city of arts and innovation alive and well."

Wake Forest Athletics has zeroed in on delivering the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina, and that has resulted in recently being rewarded with the best promoter score in the ACC, according to Faircloth.

"All of that translates," he said. "Aside from not having officials and a halftime, it will be very similar to a football game. Fans will be tailgating and it will be a big party; and we love hosting it here at Truist Field. All the elements we've added, with the DEACTOWN Fan Zone and the in-game additions like fireworks — it's all part of it. People want to be entertained and I think we're doing a great job of that."

The concert Saturday evening will be a historic event that will be remembered by fans forever.

"The exposure of having a legend like Paul McCartney at Wake Forest and Truist Field promotes our brand regionally, if not nationally," Faircloth said. "That's one of our goals — to push our brand and add value to Winston-Salem, the Triad community and Wake Forest. Anytime you can connect your brand with someone like Paul McCartney, that's always a positive. I'm excited about the citizens of Winston-Salem, to come to a concert like this right in their backyard."
