Filippo Moroni Earns Bid to NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

This marks the 17th Wake Forest players will have at least one singles player compete in the draw.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team will have Filippo Moroni represent the Demon Deacons with three alternates at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in Champaign, Illinois.
Filippo Moroni earned an at-large selection to compete in the 64-player singles draw with Eduardo Nava being named an alternate and Siddhant Banthia and Jakob Schnaitter named an alternate in the doubles draw.
After being ranked as high as No. 35 in the nation this season, Moroni has a 11-3 dual singles record, winning the last four matches he has played in. The sophomore sensation has defeated two ranked singles players this season.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 23-28 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Illinois, after the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 19-22. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will serve as host.
