Welcome to Wake Forest, Drew Langston!
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Making the most of its summer days, Wake Forest volleyball has added a new piece to its coaching staff in the form of Drew Langston.
Langston will serve as a volunteer assistant coach within the Demon Deacons' program.
"Drew's love of life, learning, teaching, and volleyball is exactly what I want to bring into our program," said head coach Randi Smart. "His character and determination will make an immediate impact. We are thrilled he chose us for his next journey."
A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Langston comes from Murray State University, where he worked with the Racers' volleyball team for four seasons as a student assistant. His duties at Murray State involved managing daily practice schedules, coordinating efficient practice drills, assisting in opponent scouting, film breakdown, and travel coordination, while also monitoring the program's social media platforms. The Racers produced multiple all-conference players each year throughout Langston's tenure and were crowned Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament Champions in 2018 en route to making an NCAA tournament appearance.
During his undergraduate years, Langston worked in the Murray State Office of Recruitment, acting as a Student Ambassador from 2019-21 before moving up to become the Executive Student Assistant for New Student Programs and Events, a title he obtained in May 2021. Playing a major role in the university's enrollment plan, he executed a number of campus tours and various events for prospective students.
Langston has volleyball coaching and training experience with both Alpha Performance Volleyball and Kentucky Basketball Academy, both of which were held in Lexington, Kentucky.
Langston received a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration in May 2022 from Murray State.
