Banthia, Nava and Schnaitter Earn ITA All-American Honors

This marks just the fourth time Wake Forest has landed three or more players on either the ITA or NCAA All-American lists.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following a run to the NCAA team Round of 16 for the eighth time and a 33-win total which is the program's second-most wins in program history, the No. 9 Wake Forest men's tennis team saw a trio of Demon Deacons achieve All-America status from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The ITA's "All-American" title is given to student-athletes that earn a top 16 seed in the NCAA Singles Championship, advance to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championship, or finish in the top 20 of the final ITA singles rankings. All-America status is also awarded to doubles teams that earn a top-eight seed in the NCAA championship, reach the NCAA championship quarterfinals, or finish in the top 10 of the final ITA doubles rankings.
Senior Eduardo Nava collected his first ITA Singles All-America status by reaching the NCAA Singles Quarterfinals, while Siddhant Banthia and Jakob Schnaitter earned All-America status in doubles by way of their run to the NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals.
This marks just the fourth time Wake Forest has landed three or more players on either the ITA or NCAA All-American lists.
With his latest honor, Nava closed out his collegiate career after finishing the year ranked No. 39 and reached the Quarterfinals in the NCAA Singles Championship. Nava finished the year at 22-11 in overall singles action and was 19-10 in dual singles matches.
Nava was one of four ACC players this year to earn ITA Singles All-America acclaim.
Wake Forest's duo of Banthia and Schnaitter have been named doubles All-Americans for the first time in their careers. The duo was the first Wake Forest doubles team to reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championships since Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim in 2017.
The pairing finished the season at 20-6 together and advanced to the NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals in Champaign, Illinois. Banthia ended his career as a Demon Deacon with 70 dual singles, 58 dual doubles and has combined for 128 wins. The transfer from Azusa Pacific, Schnaitter spent one year with the Deacs racking up an impressive 22-2 record in singles and 19-6 in doubles.
The spring season's competition officially came to an end for Wake Forest, as the program was highlighted by a perfect 26-0 record on home court. Additionally, the Demon Deacons won 14 matches this season against ranked foes and made its 21st appearance in the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament.
