WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest men's soccer's 2022 recruiting class ranked No. 2 in the final TopDrawerSoccer recruiting rankings released this week.
Wake Forest is the only NCAA Division I men's soccer program nationally to have a top-10 ranked recruiting class each of the last seven years including five top-five classes. Additionally, this year's group – which includes seven freshmen along with transfer addition Sidney Paris – is the highest rated class in the ACC.
Sidney Paris
In two seasons at Navy, Paris appeared in 24 matches with 23 starts. During the 2021 season, he collected 17 points off of four goals and a team-high seven assists as he was named an All-Patriot League selection.
One of three gray shirts for the Demon Deacons this past spring, Flax is the highest rated college commit according to the IMG Academy 150 (No. 23) and the No. 1 2022 commit out of the New York region. He previously attended three United States Youth National Team camps and captained the New York City FC academy teams at all ages.
Samuel Jones
Also enrolling at Wake Forest in January, Jones was the lone college player selected to this past May's United States Under-19 Men's Youth National Team training camp.
Alec Kenison
The third of this spring's early enrollees, Kenison spent time with the San Diego Surf Soccer Club before moving to Ohio to join the Columbus Crew's Academy.
Vlad Walent
A top-50 recruit in the class of 2022, Walent joins the program from the Colorado Rapids' Academy. He also made appearances with the Colorado Switchbacks in the USL Championship.
Devin Armstrong
A goalkeeper from Florida and one of the top-20 recruits out of the state, Armstrong trained with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the USL Championship and spent a combined three years in the Development Academy and MLS Next with Tampa Bay United.
Nico Rabiu
A top-10 recruit out of New Jersey, Rabiu developed in the New York Red Bulls' Academy while also making appearances for Red Bulls II of the USL Championship.
Aethan Yohannes
The final addition to the class, Yohannes most recently played for AZ Alkmaar's U-17 team and also has international experience with both the U-15 and U-17 national teams for the United States where he's collected 13 caps.
The class will make its regular season debut at 8 p.m. on Thursday night, as No. 15 Wake Forest hosts UCF at Spry Stadium in a match televised nationally on ACC Network.
