
Wake Forest to Host No. 16 Auburn in Sunday Matinee

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's soccer team will conclude a four-match home stand when the Demon Deacons host No. 16 Auburn Sunday at Spry Stadium.
Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m., and the match will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.

If more FLEX tickets are needed, additional admissions may be purchased through the Wake Forest Ticket Office. FLEX admissions are able to be used for redemption at both men's and women's soccer games.

The Matchup
- The Demon Deacons have opened the 2022 campaign with a three-match winning streak. This year, the Deacs have scored seven goals, while conceding just one.
- Wake Forest finished 25th in the RPI rankings last season, while Auburn finished 22nd.
- The Deacs lead the series against the Tigers, 2-1, with their most recent victory coming in 2011, in a 4-1 win at Auburn.
- Coming off an All-American performance in 2021 in which she tallied nine clean sheets, redshirt junior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Parks has accumulated two shutouts in three games for the Demon Deacons.
- The Upper Marlboro, Md., native has recorded at least two saves in each contest this season.
- Parks was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy preseason watch list, an annual award given to the top collegiate soccer player in the country.
- She was one of 60 players named to the list and the only goalkeeper from the ACC.
- In its last match, No. 16 Auburn battled to a 1-1 draw at No. 2 Florida State. After trailing 1-0 at the half, the Tigers got on the board in the 63rd minute when Sydnie Thibodaux sent a header into the back left of the net.
- For Auburn, Marissa Arias, M.E. Craven, Anna Haddock, Maddie Prohaska and Sydney Richards were all named to the SEC Preseason Watch List.
- The Tigers present a well-balanced attack as their 11 goals this season have been scored by eight different players.
- After facing Auburn, Wake Forest will hit the road for five consecutive matches.
- The Demon Deacons will return to the pitch on Thursday, Sept. 1 when they travel to face in-state foe High Point.
