Three Demon Deacons are below par heading into the final round of the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The No. 19 Wake Forest men's golf team were again led by a talented freshmen class as Monday it was Andrew McLauchlan who was the Demon Deacons highest finisher after the opening two rounds of the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational.

After claiming a top-10 finish at the Maui Jim Individual in his collegiate debut, McLauchlan is looking to claim back-to-back top-10 places to start his career at Wake Forest. The Neptune Beach, Fla. native carded a pair of par or better rounds, the only Demon Deacon to do so in the first day of play at historic Old Town Club as the two teams sit in fifth and ninth, respectively.

He shot up the leaderboard 12 spots, improving on the opening round 70 (E) by firing a 67 (-3) in the second round of the competition. Going into the final round on Tuesday, McLauchlan sits in a tie for ninth.

McLauchlan was one of three Wake Forest players to shoot below par in the first two rounds as Fulton Smith and Scotty Kennon both turned in 36-hole scores of 139 (-1) as they both shot below par in the opening rounds.

Kennon and Smith are both tied for 17th on the individual leaderboard entering the final 18 holes of play.

Sophomore Marshall Meisel (E) and freshman Boyd Owens (+1) also sit inside of the top 25 on the leaderboard. Meisel shot a 69 (-1) in the opening round while Owens ended his day with a 68 (-2) to help move up the leaderboard 22 spots.

The Demon Deacons will tee off their final round on Tuesday starting at 7:35 a.m. ET. Wake Forest will play alongside Penn State and Rutgers off No. 1 while Wake Forest B will tee off No. 10 starting at 8:30 a.m.
