The standout rookie became the first true freshman to garner Performer of the Week accolades since 2018.

CHARLOTTE – After recording an impressive sixth-place individual finish at the Nuttycombe Invitational Friday, freshman Rocky Hansen has been tabbed both the ACC Performer and Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday evening.

With the nod, Hansen became the first true freshman to garner Performer of the Week accolades since Oct. 24, 2018. Additionally, Hansen's recognition made Wake Forest the first program to have back-to-back ACC Performer's of the Week since Florida State in 2021 after Paul Specht achieved the honor last week.

In muddy conditions at the Nuttycombe Invitational Friday, Hansen clocked an impressive 23:27.2 en route to his sixth-place finish. With his performance, he paced the Demon Deacons and was one of only three freshmen to finish in the top-20.

Of note, Hansen has been Wake Forest's top performer in each of his first two collegiate races.
