  • His 15 victories led the nation while ranking fourth nationally in ERA (1.87) and strikeouts (143) and eighth in WHIP (.95). He completed the regular season as the conference's leader in ERA (1.73), wins (12), innings pitched (88.2) and strikeouts (108).
  • His 2023 performance on and off the field earned him numerous awards and honors regionally and nationally. Most notably, he was named the 2023 Anthony J. McKevlin Award winner, which is given to the ACC Male Athlete of the Year across all sports.
  • Lowder joins exclusive Demon Deacon company to be selected for the award, as Tim Duncan (1997), Randolph Childress (1995), Brian Piccolo (1965), Len Chappell (1962) and Dickie Hemric (1955) are the other Wake Forest recipients. In addition to being the first player in program history to receive this honor, he is also just the sixth baseball player in conference history to be selected in the 70-year history of the award.
  • In 2022, he became the first Demon Deacon to win ACC pitcher of the year. A year later, he became just the second player in conference history to earn the honor in back-to-back seasons.
  • In July, Lowder was drafted seventh-overall by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2023 MLB Draft. The right-hander became the ninth Demon Deacon all-time taken in the first round of the draft and third in the last four years, joining Ryan Cusick (2021) and Jared Shuster (2020). Additionally, he is the second-highest selected Demon Deacon in program history and highest since Kyle Sleeth (3rd overall in 2003).

2023 Volleyball Team and Alumni to be Honored on the Field
During the first quarter of Saturday's game, the Wake Forest volleyball program will be recognized on the field. Currently, the Demon Deacons are 14-5 overall, standing at their best records in a single season through mid-October since 2003.

Additionally, notable highlights of the 2023 volleyball team's fall campaign include:
  • Resting at sixth place in the ACC team standings.
  • Holding a 5-3 clip within conference play – best start since 2008.
  • Sophomore libero Emma Farrell has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Week on two separate occasions this year (Aug. 28 and Oct. 9).
  • Up to date, in the head coach Randi Smart era, Wake Forest has pieced together an impressive 36-8 record versus non-conference competition.
  • A quartet of Deacs  remain top-10 conference players within different statistical columns.
  • Rian Baker – 7th in assists (8.56/set)
  • Paige Crawford – 8th in kills (3.36/set)
  • Dior Charles – 8th in blocks (1.10/set)
  • Emma Farrell – 8th in digs (3.74/set)

The program's 2023 Volleyball Reunion Weekend headlines Friday through Sunday, as a handful of alums are set to make their return to campus grounds. A pregame tailgate is set to take place on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. before cheering on the football team.

2023 Wake Forest Men's Soccer Team to be Recognized on the Field
During the first quarter of Saturday's game, the Wake Forest men's soccer team will be honored on the field as the No. 3 ranked Deacs approach the end of the 2023 season in position to potentially secure the program's fifth ACC Atlantic Division title in nine years.

Season Highlights:
  • Earlier this month, Wake Forest reached 100 home victories over the last nine seasons. At 102 home victories since 2015, the Deacs have recorded 22 more home wins than other program during that span.
  • In a 1-0 victory over Boston College on Sept. 29, Wake Forest reached 50 ACC regular season wins under ninth-year head coach Bobby Muuss. The Deacs' current 52 ACC regular season victories since 2015 are 12 more than any other program.
  • With back-to-back victories over NC State (3-0) and North Carolina (1-0), Wake Forest is now 19-3-3 against Big Four opponents under Muuss.
  • With the 1-0 victory over North Carolina, Wake Forest also reached a double-digit win total for the 12th-straight season. The Deacs are currently the only program nationally to earn at least 10 victories each of the last night seasons as well.
  • Wake Forest finished the non-conference portion of its 2023 regular season schedule 7-0-2 while outscoring those nine opponents by a +21 scoring margin.
  • The Deacs currently rank in the top-10 nationally in the United Soccer Coaches poll and NCAA RPI and head into Friday's match against No. 6 Notre Dame with the possibility of clinching the ACC Atlantic Division in the event of a victory.

That means season ticket holders can download their mobile ticket once for the entire season and never worry about cellular connectivity at the gate again!
    • ALL-IN-1 tickets are available to download to your mobile wallet at GoDeacs.com/myaccount as any other mobile ticket would be. You can determine if a ticket is an ALL-IN-1 pass by the logo in the upper right hand corner of the pass.
