In the continued effort to ensure all fans at Allegacy Stadium enjoy the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina, new initiatives are in place for this fall.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Thanks to the leadership of Coach Dave Clawson and his staff, along with talented play on the field by Wake Forest's student-athletes, the Demon Deacons are an astounding 20-4 at home inside Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium since 2019. Additionally, the Deacs have been fueled by tremendous and passionate crowds, including record-breaking student attendance over the past few years.
In the continued effort to ensure Wake Forest is providing a World Class Student-Athlete Experience, the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina and bringing Value to Wake Forest, Winston-Salem and the Triad Communities, Athletics has many exciting, fun, safe and pragmatic enhancements planned for Allegacy Stadium for the 2023 season.
"The Demon Deacon fan base continues to grow and together with our outstanding football program, our spirit squads and the Spirit of the Old Gold and Black make Allegacy Stadium one of the best home field advantages in college football," director of athletics John Currie said. "We are proud to be able to provide these important investments in the game day infrastructure which will enhance both the game atmosphere, convenience and safety for our fans."
New LED Lighting
Allegacy Stadium will shine brighter this season with the addition of new LED stadium lights, to be installed by Musco, an industry leader in the design, manufacturing and installation of sports lighting solutions. Replacement of the old light banks with energy efficient LED light reflects Wake Forest's sustainability efforts and also improves dependability for both the record setting crowds in attendance but also ABC, ESPN and ACC Network national television audiences. And, the new technology will enable exciting multi-color light shows to enhance the moment every time the Deacs "Open the Gates" prior to kick-off and in big moments throughout the game!
Handrails Between Sections & Stairs on Deacon Hill
To make it easier for all fans to get to their seats handrails will be installed in all stadium aisles in both the west and east side stands.
Additionally, Wake Forest Athletics will be building permanent stairs on each side of Deacon Hill to help fans access their location and back to the concourse. These stairs are a key addition for not only Athletics events but future outside events (i.e. concerts, shows, etc.).
Tickets & Parking Enhancements
In the continued effort to provide the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina, Wake Forest Athletics has entered new partnerships and implemented some improved processes to ensure all fans can better enjoy their gameday this fall!
First, Wake Forest fans will have an easy way to manage and sell their tickets by using SeatGeek's highly-rated mobile experience as it is integrated with Paciolan's digital ticketing, with whom Wake Forest partners to provide ticketing distribution. Fans can take advantage of a variety of tools to price, list and sell unused tickets. These tools help fans to recoup their investment by reselling tickets to games they are unable to attend.
Secondly, Wake Forest fans can enjoy a hassle-free digital wallet experience. ONEpass allows fans to download their ticket(s) once and it will automatically rotate to display one ticket at a time, updating before each event automatically. Gone are the days of having all your season digital tickets in your wallet - it will now be one at a time!
Finally, all parking passes this fall will be scanned upon entrance to the parking lot, providing a safeguard to make sure all lots are filled with parking pass holders and not filled up with non-pass holders. Specifically, the Starry lot, which is located at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum is a newly branded season-only parking lot. This will provide season pass holders the best lot at Joel Coliseum.
Fan Approval Rating at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium
Last season, Allegacy Stadium hosted three sellout crowds and a record number of student attendees. These same fans gave the home of Wake Forest football a 9.2 rating by the ACC in its annual postseason fan survey. That score, which is on a scale of 1-to-10, ranked as the second-highest in the conference and is further recognition of Athletics efforts of achieving its aforementioned goals.

Wake Forest Football Overview
The Demon Deacons defeated Southeastern Conference representative Missouri 27-17 in the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. on Dec. 23, 2022. The win marked Wake Forest's fifth in the last seven years since the Deacs began the Atlantic Coast Conference's second-longest bowl streak and the country's tied for the 10th-longest back in 2016.
During the Deacs current run of bowl appearances, Wake Forest has defeated two SEC teams (Texas A&M, 2017; Missouri, 2022) and a Big Ten team (Rutgers).
Head coach Dave Clawson's five bowl victories, which is the most in school history, ranks tied for fifth in ACC history for postseason wins. Clawson ranks behind Bobby Bowden (Florida State, 11), Dabo Swinney (Clemson, 11), Frank Beamer (Virginia Tech, 6) and Danny Ford (Clemson, 6). Meanwhile, he is now tied with Jimbo Fisher (Florida State, 5) and Ralph Friedgen (Maryland, 5).
The 2022 Wake Forest football team (8-5 Overall) was just the 10th in program history to win eight games in a season in the 115-year history of the program. Four of the 10 eight-win seasons have come in the Dave Clawson era (40 percent).
Since the start of the 2016 season, the Deacs are tied for the second-most wins in the ACC not counting the COVID-shortened 2020 season entering bowl season. Additionally over the last five years, the Deacs have the second-most wins in a single five-year period.
With that, the Deacs have set a new standard for success in the win column with a record of 19-8 over the last two seasons. The 19 wins in a two-year period are the second most in school history and three away from the program record of 21 set in 2006 & 2007. Additionally, Wake Forest's 19-8 record is the ninth-best mark in all of Power-5 in the last two seasons.
Offensively, Wake Forest finished the 2022 season averaging 36.1 points per game, helping the Deacs post its sixth consecutive season of averaging 30 or more points a game. This is the longest active streak and the fourth longest in ACC history. Additionally, the Deacons threw for a program record 43 touchdowns during the 2022 season.
Under Warren Ruggiero and Dave Clawson's tutelage, the last three starting quarterbacks at Wake Forest have earned All-ACC honors when they were a starter (John Wolford, 2017; Jamie Newman, 2019; Sam Hartman, 2021 & 2022).
Finally, Wake Forest is an astounding 20-4 at home since the start of the 2019 season thanks to the incredible atmosphere created by Wake Forest's fans and students inside Allegacy Stadium over the past few seasons.
