Baseball Announces 2024 Schedule Highlighted by 32 Home Games

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Coming off the first 50-win season in program history, head coach Tom Walter and the Wake Forest baseball team announced its 2024 schedule on Wednesday.

The 2024 slate features 32 chances to catch the Demon Deacons in action at David F. Couch Ballpark and 40 of 54 games will be played inside North Carolina state lines.

Wake Forest opponents combined to go 777-684 (.531% WPCT) a season ago, and features eight postseason teams, three Regional hosts (Coastal Carolina, Duke and Virginia), two Super Regional squads (Duke and Virginia) and a Men's College World Series foe (Virginia). 

"We have a lot of new faces in our clubhouse, but feel really good about the talent we have assembled," said Walter. "This group is very much looking forward to picking up on the momentum created by last year's ballclub and continuing to raise the bar for program expectations. Opening day can't come soon enough."

2024 Schedule
The Deacs welcome Fordham, Illinois and Akron for opening weekend at The Couch Feb. 16-18 before making the short trip to Greensboro for a midweek matchup with UNCG on Feb. 20.

The second weekend of the season brings Dayton to Winston-Salem for a three-game set (Feb. 23-25) and the Demon Deacons close the month of February on the road at NC A&T.

Binghamton, Valparaiso and Elon close out nonconference weekend action on Mar. 1-3 at The Couch.

ACC play opens against Big Four rival and 2023 Conway Regional champion Duke to cap the homestand Mar. 8-10.
 
The Deacs hit the road for four-straight, traveling to Regional host Coastal Carolina (Mar. 12) and fellow 2023 MCWS participant Virginia (Mar. 15-17) during the middle of March, prior to returning home for a midweek against High Point on Mar. 19. 
 
Two-straight home ACC series against Louisville (Mar. 21-23) and North Carolina (Mar. 29-31) close the month with a trip to Liberty sandwiched between on Mar. 26.

The Deacs hit the road for the majority of April with three-of-four ACC series away from the Couch in Virginia Tech (Apr. 5-7), Boston College (Apr. 12-14) and Notre Dame (Apr. 25-27).

Wake Forest lone home conference series in the month sees Florida State come to Winston-Salem on Apr. 19-21. The Deacs play host to UNCG (Apr. 2) and Coastal Carolina (Apr. 9) in the midweek, while staying in-state for matchups with UNC Wilmington in Durham on Apr. 16, at Elon (Apr. 23) and App. State in Shelby on Apr. 30 to close the month.

Opening the final month of the regular season on the road at High Point on May 1, the Deacs return to the Couch for eight-straight, starting with a three-game set against Western Carolina on May 4-5 with a Sunday doubleheader. North Carolina A&T comes to The Couch on May 8 ahead of the Deacs final home ACC series against Clemson May 10-12.

The Deacs close the 2024 home slate with a midweek matchup against Liberty on Tuesday, May 14, before ending the regular season at NC State (May 16-18).
