WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest Athletics is committed to providing The Best Fan Experience in North Carolina inside all of its venues while ensuring that all fans have a great time in a healthy and safe environment. Wake Forest University has several gameday strategies, and health and safety protocols in place to ensure all fans have a great experience at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium. 

With the overwhelming excitement for Demon Deacons football in the Winston-Salem and Triad communities, Wake Forest Athletics is excited to announce that fewer than 1,000 tickets remain at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium for this Saturday's matchup with Florida State!
 
If you are interested in purchasing limited tickets for Saturday's game against Florida State, call the Wake Forest Ticket Office at 336-758-3322 for more information or purchase tickets by clicking HERE.

The game will kickoff at 12 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ABC.

Open the Gate - Dr. Janice Collins
  • Collins was a standout basketball player for the Deacs in the 1980s, becoming the women's program's first ever All-ACC player in 1985 when was named to the second team her junior year, after averaging 12.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting .507 from the field. A four-year letter winner, Collins finished her Demon Deacon career with 992 points, 548 rebounds, 186 assists and 146 steals, playing in 109 games while starting 80. In 2015, Collins was inducted as an ACC Tournament Legend. 
  • After graduating from Wake Forest with a degree in communications and theater arts in 1986, Collins embarked on an illustrious career in journalism, working primarily as a broadcast news producer, winning multiple Emmy, Best of Gannett, Associated Press and National Association of Black Journalist awards during her career. 
  • In academia, she was selected as one of the Top 50 Journalism Professors in the nation of 2012 by Journalismdegree.org and has received first place in a national competition for her teaching, service, creative endeavor, and research called the Baskett Mosse National Award for Faculty Development AEJMC 2017, "Best in Digital"  2nd place, for her website of inclusion and diversity called Hearmyvoiceonline.com AEJMC 2017, and has, consistently, made the Teachers of Excellence List at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign since 2013. 
  • She was also awarded a Faculty of Excellence award by the Department of Minority Affairs at Eastern Illinois University and an Excellence Award for Teaching and Service at Hampton University. College newsrooms she has worked in as faculty advisor or facilitator, have been award winning including a NABJ, Virginia Chapter award for original news-magazine show at Hampton called "Sound Off," and numerous College Regional Emmy, INBA, SINBA and SPJ awards at Eastern Illinois University.
  • Dr. Collins earned her master's degree in journalism and Ph.D in Mass Communications from Ohio University in 2005 and 2009, respectively. She currently works on Inclusion measures and SDG goals across the globe as President of World Changers Media International Foundation.
 
Trailblazers Henderson and Jackson to be Honored on the Field
After developing the Robert Grant and Kenneth "Butch" Henry Trailblazer Award in 2021, Wake Forest will celebrate and honor Sonya E Henderson and Keeva Jackson-Breland this fall (October 27-29) as the University's next Trailblazer Award honorees.
 
Henderson and Jackson-Breland were the first Black scholarship female athletes at Wake Forest, playing on the women's basketball team during the mid-1980s. This award was named in honor of the first Black football student-athletes to enroll at a Division I institution in the South – Robert Grant and Kenneth "Butch" Henry.
 
During the first quarter of the game, Henderson and Jackson-Breland will be recognized on the field at Allegacy Stadium.

2024 Women's Tennis Team to be Honored on the Field
During the second quarter of Saturday's game, the Wake Forest women's tennis team will be recognized on the field, having recently wrapped its 2023 fall campaign.
  • Wake Forest competed in multiple events during the fall, including the ITA All-American Championships and ITA Carolina Regionals.
  • Senior Casie Wooten led the way with five singles victories this fall, two of which were over nationally-ranked opponents. She currently holds a top-45 national ranking in singles.
  • In doubles, Brooke Killingsworth and newcomer Marcella Cruz are ranked #31 in the country and collected six wins as a duo throughout the fall season.
  • The Demon Deacons are in year 14 of the Jeff Wyshner era, as the head coach has led the program to seven consecutive NCAA tournament appearances up to date.
The women's tennis team next has its sights set of the 2024 spring season, which officially starts on January 13th with an appearance in the South Carolina Hidden Duals.

2023-24 Men's Basketball Team to be Recognized on the Field
During the first quarter of Saturday's game, the Wake Forest men's basketball program will be recognized on the field. The Demon Deacons open their season with a Charity Exhibition tomorrow against preseason No. 24 Alabama. all proceeds from this game will support stroke research at the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Admission to the game will be free, with a suggested voluntary donation of $20 accepted at entry into Joel Coliseum. Additionally, there is an online donation form available now for donations to stroke research. 
 
Wake Forest is coming off its first appearance in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament since 2009. With an overall record of 19-14 last season and 25-10 in 2022, Wake Forest has had back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2008-09 (24-7) and 2009-10 (20-11). Wake Forest has had back-to-back seasons with double-digit ACC wins for the first time since the 1995-96 (12-4) and 1996-97 (11-5) seasons. The Deacs also had back-to-back 10-0 starts at home for the first time in program history during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. 
 
Since the start of the 2021-22 season, Wake Forest is 31-5 inside LJVM. During that time, Wake Forest won 15-straight games inside Joel Coliseum, which was the longest home-win streak since the Deacs went 22-0 during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. Wake Forest was the first ACC school to reach 31 home wins during the two seasons. With the Jan. 17 win over Clemson, Steve Forbes has defeated every ACC team at least once in less than three seasons. 
Parachute Team During National Anthem
Deacon Fans, be sure to take a look into the sky during the national anthem on Saturday as the Team Fastrax Parachute Team lands inside of Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium.
Friday Night Fireworks
Join Wake Forest Athletics for its traditional firework show before every Demon Deacon home football game. The five-minute show will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday immediately following the Trailblazer ceremony at the Athletics throws field behind McCreary Football Field House.

    • Parking will be available to purchase on gameday at the LJVM Coliseum lots on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking will be $30 per space for Wake Forest's matchup against Florida State.

    • First Assembly Church lot is no longer available for parking on football gamedays. Fans are encouraged to utilize the 2400 Reynolda Road lot as an alternative option. 
  • Etiquette
    • As you are arriving at Allegacy Stadium on Saturday and setting up your tailgate, we remind you that you must have a Wake Forest-issued parking pass for each space you occupy. That means if you only have one parking pass, please only use one parking space for your tailgate. We thank you for your cooperation.

The Deacon Walk is Back in 2023!
  • In 2022, Athletics announced the return of the Deacon Walk before every home football game. 
  • The Deacon Walk will begin approximately two and a half hours before kickoff at the corner of Deacon Blvd and Piccolo Lane. 
  • Led by the Demon Deacon and Motorcycle, Spirit of the Old Gold and Black Drumline and your 2023 Demon Deacon football team, the Deacon Walk gives Deacon Nation the opportunity to welcome the squad before cheering on the Deacs inside Allegacy Stadium!

  • Enhancements to Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium Await Fans for 2023 Football Season
    • New LED Lighting
      • Allegacy Stadium will shine brighter this season with the addition of new LED stadium lights, to be installed by Musco, an industry leader in the design, manufacturing and installation of sports lighting solutions.  Replacement of the old light banks with energy efficient LED light reflects Wake Forest's sustainability efforts and also improves dependability for both the record setting crowds in attendance but also ABC, ESPN and ACC Network national television audiences. And, the new technology will enable exciting multi-color light shows to enhance the moment every time the Deacs "Open the Gates" prior to kick-off and in big moments throughout the game!
    • Handrails Between Sections & Stairs on Deacon Hill
      • To make it easier for all fans to get to their seats handrails will be installed in all stadium aisles in both the west and east side stands. 
      • Additionally, Wake Forest Athletics will be building permanent stairs on each side of Deacon Hill to help fans access their location and back to the concourse. These stairs are a key addition for not only Athletics events but future outside events (i.e. concerts, shows, etc.).

  • Introducing ALL-IN-1, a New Smart Ticket Experience
    • Paciolan, Wake Forest's ticketing partner, has launched a new smart ticket experience called "ALL-IN-1" for the 2023-24 athletics year, starting this fall at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium as well as all other Wake Forest athletic venues.
    • ALL-IN-1 is a smart ticket that will simplify your digital wallet by consolidating your entire sports season, series of performances, or set of shows into a single pass. Season ticket, mini plan, or series purchasers will now only have to download one mobile ticket per seat that will automatically update to the event in their plan. That means season ticket holders can download their mobile ticket once for the entire season and never worry about cellular connectivity at the gate again!
    • ALL-IN-1 tickets are available to download to your mobile wallet at GoDeacs.com/myaccount as any other mobile ticket would be. You can determine if a ticket is an ALL-IN-1 pass by the logo in the upper right hand corner of the pass.

    • After record-breaking student crowds and support in 2021 and 2022, Wake Forest Athletics is excited to bring back student enhancements for the upcoming 2023 football season.
    • Student Section Seating
      • Starting in 2022, student section seating has now moved from the upper section of 17 to the lower section of 17. Student Section seating now includes all of section 20, 19, 18 and the lower section of 17.
    • Gameday Shuttle Pick Up and Drop Off
      • Wake Forest Athletics is proud to provide complimentary transportation for every home game to ensure all students have a safe and easy option to get from campus to Allegacy Stadium. Student shuttles will start running three and a half hours prior to the game with pickup locations on campus in Lot P behind Wait Chapel and Poteat Residence Hall. The pickup and drop off location at Allegacy Stadium is located behind the Wake Forest indoor tennis center on Shorefair Drive.
    • Rideshare Program
      • Students electing to ride share with Uber or Lyft will need to instruct their drivers to the appropriate pick up and drop off locations. The appropriate rideshare location at Allegacy Stadium is the Green Lot outside of the Indoor Tennis Center (ITC). When using a rideshare service on gameday please enter the following address: 100 W 32nd St Winston-Salem, NC 27105. This is the address of the Indoor Tennis Center and will get you where you need to be faster. 
      • Rideshare vehicles should enter the Green Lot from 32nd street, drop off in front of the indoor tennis facility and exit the Green Lot onto Shorefair Drive.
    • Screamin' Demon Rewards
      • Screamin' Demon Rewards is the FREE student program that rewards attendance at Wake Forest athletic and additional campus events. Download in the app store here.
      • To claim tickets for an event, simply click on the event you wish to attend from the "Events" tab, and select "Claim Ticket". For Football, tickets will be available to claim at 12 pm, 5 days prior to kickoff. For all other sports, ticket claims will be available 48 hours before the event start time.
    • DEACTOWN Student Tailgate
      • The free DEACTOWN Student Tailgate is BACK. This revamped space behind the East stands of Allegacy Stadium was developed in partnership with student leaders, members of the Wake Forest faculty, the Wake Forest Office of Student Life, Wake Forest Office of Diversity and Inclusion, University Advancement, and the Office of Alumni Engagement. The space will open for students three hours prior to kickoff, where they will enjoy an elevated tailgate experience featuring a stage with live music and a large video screen to watch games from around the country. Additionally, free food opportunities will be available from local food trucks for students while supplies last, while additional food will be available for purchase. 
      • The new area provides a dynamic outdoor club atmosphere for Wake Forest students and their guests. A variety of new seating and eating areas, games surrounding the stage and video screen will provide opportunities for relaxation and engagement for all.

    • Purchase the official shirt of the 2023 Wake Forest football season! In collaboration with campus and our football program, Wake Forest Athletics has developed the first-ever season t-shirt for purchase.
