Join in on the fun for a handful of conference games in DEACTOWN this winter!
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – As excitement continues to rise for the nearing start of Demon Deacons men's basketball's 2023-24 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) slate, the program unveiled its promotional schedule for home games within conference play on Tuesday (Dec. 12).
Wake Forest Athletics is committed to providing The Best Fan Experience in North Carolina inside all of its venues while ensuring that all fans have a great time in a healthy and safe environment. Wake Forest University has implemented several gameday strategies, and health and safety protocols in place to ensure all fans have an enjoyable experience at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Ten home outings headline the Deacs' promotional schedule through the remainder of the regular season, beginning with New Years' With The Deacs for the last showing of the 2023 calendar year on Dec. 30 versus Virginia Tech. The contest will provide the opportunity for fans to purchase a ticket to sit in the student section as part of the university's continued Student for a Day promotion during this year's winter break for Wake Forest students, with tickets starting at $15. The first 1,000 fans to arrive will also receive a commemorative New Years-themed mini poster.
Opening up 2024 with a Jan. 6 showdown versus Miami, presented by Allegacy Federal Credit Union, fans are encouraged to Wear White for the first home game of the new year. The Saturday showing is also set to continue the Student for a Day trend, as fans again have the chance to cheer on the Black and Old Gold in the student section with the purchase of a ticket starting at $15. Colors will be flipped a week later on Jan. 13 when the Deacs host Virginia during their Wear Black game, presented by Truist. The team's final home appearance of the month, presented by First Horizon Bank, includes a matchup against Louisville (Jan. 20) with a Student Appreciation focus, as university students will have access to exclusive enter-to-win opportunities, as well as a T-shirt giveaway. The Deacons' contest against Louisville is also Jr. Deacs Day, presented by Lowe's Foods. Memberships are $30 and can be purchased at juniordeacs.com/register, and all members can claim one complimentary ticket to the game.
Within the first week of February, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Deacons' Elite Eight appearance in the 1984 NCAA Tournament, program alums are set to return to Winston-Salem for a reunion during a weekend matchup versus Syracuse (Feb. 3), presented by Harris Teeter, which will include a recognition at halftime. The game will also feature various 1980's themed entertainment. Replica throwback jerseys will be handed out to the first 750 students.
Bringing in NC State on Feb. 10 for its first Big Four home test of the year, presented by Truist, DEACTOWN 500 will be in full effect, as racing-inspired entertainment will be featured. Additionally, the first 1,000 students and 1,500 fans can collect a special edition checkered flag, courtesy of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Commemorative mini posters will also be available to the first 1,000 fans. Fans can also check out a university Hall of Fame presentation during the halftime break. On Feb. 20, Wake Forest will match up against Pitt in a Coaches vs. Cancer showing.
Two weeks later, another Big Four outing, presented by Allegacy Federal Credit Union, is slated to take place between the Deacs and Duke University (Feb. 24), involving the team's second Tie Dye game of 2023-24 and part two of Wake the Nation.
The month of March will hold a pair of contests inside LJVM Coliseum – starting with a test versus Georgia Tech (March 5), presented by Pepsi, before Senior Night against Clemson (March 9) closes out the regular season, presented by Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
