CARY, N.C. – Following an impressive 4-1 victory over No. 11 seed Virginia Tech Thursday evening, the sixth-seeded and 20th-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team will return to action Friday to face third-seeded and 23rd-ranked NC State at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
Friday's quarterfinal matchup between the Demon Deacons and the Wolfpack is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
Wake Forest enters Friday's match with a 24-10 overall record, including a 7-5 mark in ACC play. Of note, with Thursday's win over Virginia Tech, the Deacs advanced to the quarterfinals of the ACC Championships for the eighth-consecutive season.
This season, the Deacs are led by senior Melios Efstathiou as the Limassol, Cyprus native is currently ranked the fifth-best singles player nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

After facing an early deficit, NC State took the doubles point behind victories on courts one and two, taking a 1-0 lead into singles action.
The Deacs battled back to even the score on two occasions with wins in first and fourth singles but were unable to overcome NC State's home-court advantage, ultimately falling 4-2.
