Wake Forest Athletics Celebrates Achievements at 2023 Black & Golden Globe Awards

The annual celebration highlights the athletic and academic accomplishments of Wake Forest student-athletes.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - It was a festive night to recap all of the special moments to date for Wake Forest Athletics during the 2022-23 academic year at the annual Black & Golden Globes, which was held at the Scales Fine Arts Center on the Reynolda Campus.
The event was full of pageantry and excitement encapsulating a year that has already included an ACC Championship for men's cross country, a seventh-straight bowl game appearance for football, a No. 1 national ranking for women's golf, NCAA Tournament appearances for men's soccer, women's soccer and field hockey, an ACC Championship round appearance for men's golf, national rankings for men's and women's tennis, a WNIT appearance for women's basketball, a 19-win season for men's basketball, a first-ever berth in the NIVC postseason tournament for volleyball and baseball is currently in first place in the ACC with three series remaining.
Below are the winners of this year's awards at the Black & Golden Globes. Additional awards such as the Arnold Palmer Male Athlete of the Year and Marge Crisp Female Athlete of the Year will be announced at a later date:
Ron and Linda Wellman Life Teammate Award
Awarded annually, the Life Teammate Award will recognize a male and female student-athlete who best represents the characteristics of being a life teammate. Each team selects one nominee for the award.
